# eth\_getHeaderByNumber

POST `https://mainnet.valuechain.xyz`

Returns the block header for the given block number or tag.

## Parameters

| ------- | --------------- | -------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `block` | quantity or tag | Yes      | Hex block number, or `earliest`, `latest`, `safe`, `finalized`, or `pending`. See [block tags](/documentation/for-developers/developers/valuechain-evm/differences-from-ethereum.md#consensus-finality). |

## Result

**Header** (object or null): Header object without the transaction list.
