# eth\_getTransactionCount

POST `https://mainnet.valuechain.xyz`

Returns the number of transactions sent from an address (the nonce).

## Parameters

| --------- | --------------- | -------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `address` | address         | Yes      | Account address.                                                                                                                                                                                                                               |
| `block`   | quantity or tag | No       | Hex block number, or `earliest`, `latest`, `safe`, `finalized`, or `pending`. Use `pending` to include the mempool. See [block tags](/documentation/for-developers/developers/valuechain-evm/differences-from-ethereum.md#consensus-finality). |

## Result

**Nonce** (quantity): Hex-encoded transaction count.
