# Trading Fees

## Trading Fees

Fees on SoDEX are determined by your rolling **14-day volume** and are **finalized at the end of each UTC day**. Your fee tier applies across the platform and updates automatically.

***

**How fee tiers are calculated**

* **Rolling 14D volume**: We look at your last 14 days of trading activity (rolling window).
* **Daily settlement (UTC)**: Your tier is re-evaluated once per day at the end of the UTC day.
* **One tier for all markets**: Each user has a single fee tier that applies across all assets and markets.

**Perps + Spot are combined**

Your fee tier is based on combined perps and spot volume.

```
(14D weighted volume) = (14D perps volume) + 2 × (14D spot volume)
```

***

**How your final fee is determined**

Your final fee depends on whether you are a **taker** or a **maker**:

* **Taker fees** are always based on your 14D volume tier, with an optional staking discount: `Taker fee = Base taker fee × (1 - Staking discount)`
* **Maker fees** work in two ways:
  * By default, same as taker: `Maker fee = Base maker fee × (1 - Staking discount)`
  * If your **14D maker volume share** reaches a threshold, you qualify for **Maker Rebates** — a standalone negative fee rate where the platform pays you for providing liquidity. This replaces the volume-based maker fee.

#### Staking Fee Discount

Staking SOSO grants a fee discount applied to your volume-based fee. The discount updates at the end of each UTC day and applies automatically once active.

`Effective fee = Base fee × (1 - Staking discount)`

| Fee Discount | SOSO Staked Requirement |
| ------------ | ----------------------- |
| 0%           | 0 SOSO                  |
| 5%           | ≥ 30 SOSO               |
| 10%          | ≥ 300 SOSO              |
| 15%          | ≥ 3,000 SOSO            |
| 20%          | ≥ 30,000 SOSO           |
| 30%          | ≥ 300,000 SOSO          |
| 40%          | ≥ 1,500,000 SOSO        |

> 💡 **Tip:** When you initiate partial unstaking, despite the 14-day unstaking period, your fee discount will be instantly recalculated based only on your remaining staked SOSO.

#### Maker Rebates

If your **14D maker volume share** reaches a threshold, you qualify for a negative fee rate — the platform pays you for providing liquidity.

* Rebates are **paid continuously** on each trade directly to your trading wallet.

| Tier | 14D Maker Volume Share | Maker   |
| ---- | ---------------------- | ------- |
| 1    | > 0.50%                | -0.001% |
| 2    | > 1.50%                | -0.002% |
| 3    | > 3.00%                | -0.003% |
