Futures Trading

Futures trading is a financial mechanism where counterparties execute standardized derivative contracts to commit to buying or selling an underlying asset (such as commodities, currencies, or indices) at a predetermined price on a specified future date. This practice is primarily utilized for risk hedging or generating speculative profits.

SoDEX currently offers Perpetual Futures, which are a class of cryptocurrency derivatives that lack an expiration date. These contracts employ a periodic funding rate mechanism to ensure their price closely tracks the price of the underlying Spot market. This structure allows users to take leveraged long or short positions with native crypto settlement.

  1. Navigate to the Futures trading terminal by selecting the "Futures" category in the menu, then choose the desired contract, e.g., "BTC-USD".

  2. Order Configuration:

    1. Click "Futures" in the top right corner and select "Buy/Long" (or Sell/Short).

    2. Adjust the leverage rate to your preferred multiple.

    3. Select your order type: "Limit" or "Market".

    4. For Limit orders, input the "Price" and the required "Amount" (or contract size).

Optional: Use the slider beneath the "Amount" field to specify the percentage of your Futures Account balance to be used as margin for the order.

    5. For Market orders, input the required "Amount" (or contract size).

  3. Click "Buy" (or Sell) to submit the Futures contract order.
